NEK Moms Weekend Scoop: February 24-26

If the forecast holds true, this weekend may be perfect snow days for outdoor play and adventure!  If you’re looking for family fun, here’s a look at some of the events happening in and around Vermont’s NEK.  Enjoy!

Friday, February 24th:

  • Lyndon/Burke Snowflake Festival continues this weekend.  The full schedule is here.
  • Village Kids Boutique, Kids Coloring Contest. Lyndonville.  Prizes, treats & fun
  • Burke Mt. Sundae run., 12:30-2pm $3/person
  • Ice Skate Lessons, Fenton Chester Ice Arena, 5:45pm.  Info call: 626-9361

Saturday, February 25th:

  • Lyndon/Burke Snowflake Festival continues this weekend.  The full schedule is here.
  • St. Johnsbury Ballet Winter Recital, 4pm.,  Fuller Hall (St. Johnsbury Academy), tix at door
  • Village Kids Boutique, Kids Coloring Contest.  Prizes, treats & fun
  • NEK Snowmobile Drag Racing, Route 114, 8:30 a.m. – all day.
  • Catamount Bluegrass Jam, 7:00pm, Catamount Arts, St. Johnsbury
  • Cardboard Box Races, Lyndon Outing Club, noon.
  • Craft & Yard Sale, Irasburg, Town Hall, 9am-3pm.  Benefits Vermont Family Theater.
  • Public Ice Skating, Fenton Chester Ice Arena, 3:30-5pm
  • Burke Mt. Comedy Club Series, 8pm.  Call 626-7395 for tix.  Hello, did someone say date night?

 Sunday, February 26th:

  • Lyndon/Burke Snowflake Festival continues this weekend.  The full schedule is here.
  • Public Ice Skating, Fenton Chester Ice Arena, 12:30-2:30pm, $3/person
  • Sliding Party, Old Stone House Museum, 1-4pm.  Square dancing, XC skiing, sliding, sleigh rides.  Free admission. Info call: 754-2022.
  • Open Mic at Parker Pie, W. Glover, 7:30pm.  All welcome.
  • XC Citizens Race, Dashney Road Nordic Center, E. Burke, Kingdom Trails Association, 3pm registration
  • Hope on the Slopes, Jay Peak Ski & Ride Fundraiser for American Cancer Society, 8am+, Participate or watch the fun.
  • Suzanne Farrell Ballet, Lyndon Institute, 7pm.  Info at Catamount Arts
