NEK Moms Buzz: Gymnastics In Vermont’s Northeast Kingdom (St. Johnsbury)

Hey Moms! If you haven’t already heard, it’s official… a *real* gymnastics training facility is coming to the heart of Vermont’s Northeast Kingdom. Next month (the week of Oct. 11th), Kingdom Gymnastics on Memorial Drive in St. Johnsbury, Vermont opens. Together, Donna Reed and Vladimir Akhlatkin, bring a dream which they’ve held for the past three years to fruition: to bring gymnastics to Vermont’s Northeast Kingdom.

Team Program Director, Vladimir Akhlatkin’s credentials include: member of the Soviet Union’s Junior Elite Gymnastics team, gymnastics coaching in Russia, Las Vegas and NH, a degree in Sports and PE, circus work, co-coaching St. Johnsbury Academy High School Gymnastics, and business management at Evergreen gymnastics in NH. Class Program Director, Donna Reed’s credentials include experience as a trapezist, a degree in Therapeutic Recreation from Lyndon State College, USAG Certification, and experience as a full-time gymnastics coach at Evergreen Gymnastics.

Kingdom Gymnastics is now accepting registration for their upcoming classes. Classes include: Boys’ gymnastics, competitive and recreational girls’ programs, Kindergym, homeschool classes, and Tumble Tots. To view the Kingdom Gymnastics schedule, click here. Also opening later this month, Sunrise Gymnastics (formerly North Stars Gymnastics) in Berlin, VT.  Stanislav (“Stano“) Mikulas, the current head coach of Green Mountain Gymnastics, and his wife, Alena, are gearing up to bring gymnastics to the Barre/Montpelier/Northfield/Berlin area once again.  Both are experienced gymnastics coaches.  This is exciting news for gymnasts and parents!  You can click here for the Sunrise Gymnastics schedule.

Regal Gymnastics in Winooski gears up once again to rock the house in yet another exciting gymnastics season!  Beyond their proven competitive boys’ and girls’ gymnastics training programs, Regal Gymnastics now offers the USA Acrobatic Gymnastics Programs and SuperHero training classes.  Additionally, Regal’s new coach, Bob Abbott, is ready with big plans to take Regal’s Competitive Men’s Team to the next level.  NEK Moms, looking to combine “big city” shopping runs (e.g., Costco!) and kid entertainment love Regal’s convenient Chittenden County location and weekend gymnastics offerings.
