Radical Unschooling in Vermont
Last evening I attended Author & Radical Homeschooling Advocate, Dayna Martin’s book signing (Radical Unschooling: A Revolution Has Begun) at Boxcar & Caboose in St. Johnsbury, VT. A big thank you to Amber & Dennis for coordinating this booksigning and to Boxcar & Caboose for happily welcoming so many children into the store! Some of the coolest, sharpest and most forward thinking parents I’ve met in the NEK attended the signing. I knew the NEK was homeschool friendly, but I was amazed to see so many families attending the event. Vermont Children’s Theater Auditions 2012 – Beanstalk!, The Adventures of Dr. Dolittle & The Sound of Music
If you’re looking to get your child involved in what could very well be one of the most enriching childhood experiences in Vermont’s Northeast Kingdom this Spring/Summer, take note. Vermont Children’s Theater auditions for July 2012 performances of Beanstalk! The Musical, The Adventures of Dr. Dolittle and The Sound of Music take place on May 19th & May 20th. St. Johnsbury Players to Perform Once Upon a Mattress, A Spin on Classic Princess and the Pea
This looks like an awesome, upcoming family-friendly performance, and a terrific opportunity to support local theater. St. Johnsbury Players will perform the family-friendly musical “Once upon a Mattress”, a spin on the classic “Princess and the Pea” later this month and in early May at the St. Johnsbury School. Here are the details: Once Upon a Mattress performances are April 27th and 28th at 7:30 p.m., May 4th and 5th at 7:30 p.m., and May 6th at 2:00 p.m. at the St. Johnsbury School. New Hampshire April Homeschool Conference
For those who homeschool and live in New Hampshire (we know you North Country NH Moms love to read NEKMoms.com!) or have plans to relocate there, you may be interested in knowing that the New Hampshire Homeschooling Coalition is hosting its annual conference in Manchester on April 21st.
