NEK Moms Weekend Scoop: June 22-24
Welcome Bikers! That’s the theme of the weekend in the NEK, as mountain bikers from all around the world flock to NEMBAfest 2012, which takes place in East Burke on Kingdom Trails and at Burke Mountain. It’s the first EVER Mountain Bike Festival on Kingdom Trails. Even if you don’t ride, there’s still tons of fun for you this weekend…here’s a look at just some of that fun. Riding in VT: A Kid’s Dream Parr’s Park Pump Track on Vermont’s Kingdom Trails
Looking for a place to explore with your kids on bike? Grab a Kingdom Trails pass–or better yet, get a family’s seasons pass–and get to Parr’s Bike Park (Pump Track) on Kingdom Trails. Located on the Kingdom Trails right in the center of East Burke Village, this little park is a great place for kids to get comfortable on their bikes and used to riding manageable hills and bumps. Kingdom Trails Summer Season 2012 Opens Early – Saturday, April 21st! What this Means for NEK Families!
Kingdom Trails Association has just announced an awesome surprise for outdoor enthusiasts and aspiring adventurists! The Darling Hill side of the Kingdom Trail network will open earlier than anticipated–this Saturday, April 21st. Thanks to landowner agreement and warm temps, those trails are opening ahead of the original May 1st schedule. If you’re not reading this news and jumping up and down (and maybe shouting…even during baby’s nap time!), it might just be because you’re not entirely sure what this trail network means for you or your family. Burke Bike Park Opens, Offers Lift Service
Big news in Burke this weekend. On Saturday, June 18th, lift access begins on Burke Mountain that will connect and enhance accessibility to over 100 miles of interconnected cross-country mountain bike trails. If you’re into mountain biking or dream about getting started, this is big-big-big news. From the Kingdom Trails site: Kingdom Trails has collaborated with Burke Mountain Operating Company to create a gravity downhill trail system using the high speed quad chairlift on the Lower half of the Mountain. Last fall we built a premier double- black diamond experience trail with all kinds of elements on it’s mile long track. The trail now known has “Knightslayer”, named not coincidentally…
