The Trout Are Jumping!
Give a man a fish and you feed him for a day. Teach a man to fish and you feed him for a lifetime. Spring trout season opened April 14 and the fish are really jumping in Orleans! My Dad is here visiting from Florida so I thought it would be fun to take him and my 8-month-old to Willoughby River in Orleans to watch the steelhead rainbow trout attempt to swim up the rapids. Free Harry Potter Movie Showings at Catamount Arts
If your child (or family) digs Harry Potter, you won’t want to miss the upcoming free Harry Potter series at Catamount Arts. Beginning June 25th, Catamount Arts will show the Harry Potter films in order, beginning with THE SORCERER’S STONE, ultimately leading up to the final movie release date on July 15th. The series is free and open to all. Free Nordic Ski Day – Gear, Lessons, Pass – at Select Vermont Ski Areas
Save the date! On January 9, 2011, certain participating Vermont Nordic (XC or Cross-Country) ski areas are offering free Nordic Center passes, gear rentals and lessons as part of the 16th Annual Winter Trails Day. To reserve a free lesson, you have to pre-register. You can do so over at Snowlink or contact the Nordic center directly for more information.
