Lyndon Burke Snowflake Festival Kid-Friendly Events & Activity Schedule

The NEK’s super popular Lyndon/Burke Snowflake Festival 2012 kicks off on Saturday, February 18th and lasts for two weeks!  If you haven’t looked over the full schedule of events, you can do so here.  Below you’ll find an overview of some of the family-friendly events that beg for a spot on your family calendar!

 

Saturday, Feb. 18th:

• Pancake Breakfast, Lyndonville United Methodist Church, 7am-11am.  Admission by donation.
• Book sale, East Burke Community Library, 9am-3pm.
• NEK Drag Races, Route 114, all day.
• Pictures with the famous Burkie Bear – Burke Mt. at the top of the Sherburne Express, 1:30pm & 3pm.
• Chowdah Fest, Lyndon Outing Club, 4pm-6pm.
• Hockey game, SJA vs. Northfield, 3:45pm, Fenton Chester Arena (Lyndon)
• Sledding, Burke Mt., Sherburne Base Lodge. 5pm-8pm.  $5/person.  Ages 5+.
• Showshoe Hike up Burke Mt w/ yummmmy Smores!  7-8pm.

Sunday, Feb. 19th:

• Public Ice Skating, Fenton Chester Ice Arena 12:30-2:30pm
• Burke Mt. Burkie Bear pictures.
• Snow painting at Burke Mt. 12:30pm
• Burke Mt. Cupcake Decorating.  6pm.  $3/child
• Sledding, Burke Mt., 5-8pm.  $5/person.  Ages 5+.

Monday, Feb. 20th:

• Book Sale, East Burke Community Library, 9am-3pm
• Kids Snowball Throw, Burke Mt., 1-2pm
• Popcorn & Movie night, 7pm, Burke Mt. $5/child

 

Tuesday, Feb. 21st

• Snowflakes Story Time, Baby/Toddler, Cobleigh Library 10am
• Burke Mt. Craft Night, 6-7pm, Children’s Center.  $3/child

 

Wednesday, Feb. 22nd:

• Snowflakes Story Hour, Cobleigh Library, 10:30am
• High School Hockey, LI vs. MMU, Fenton Chester Ice Arena, 5:45pm
• Kids Cupcake Decorating, Burke Mt. 6-7pm

Thursday, Feb. 23rd:

• Burke Mt. Tug of War, 12:30-2pm
• Game night for kids, $3/child.
• Burke Mt. Sledding Hill open, 5-8pm

 

Friday, Feb. 24th:

• Village Kids Boutique, Kids Coloring Contest.  Prizes, treats & fun
• Burke Mt. Sundae run., 12:30-2pm $3/person

 

Sat. Feb. 25th:

• Village Kids Boutique, Kids Coloring Contest.  Prizes, treats & fun
• Cardboard Box Races, Lyndon Outing Club, noon.
• Public Ice Skating, Fenton Chester Ice Arena, 3:30-5pm

 

Sunday, Feb. 26th:

• Public Ice Skating, Fenton Chester Ice Arena, 12:30-2:30pm

 

Monday, Feb. 27th:

• Reading Takes You Places, K-5, Cobleigh Library, 3pm

 

Tuesday, Feb. 28th:  

• Beach Day Storytime, Cobleigh Library, 10am
• Game Day, Cobleigh Library, 3pm. All ages.

Wednesday, Feb. 29th:

• Beach Day Storytime, Cobleigh Library, 10:30am
• Snow Sculpture Contest, Bandstand Park, Lyndonville.  5pm judging.
• Family Night, Lyndon Outing Club, 6-9pm.  Bonfire & more

Friday, March 2nd:

• Sled Dog Dash, E. Burke.

Saturday, March 3rd:

• Sled Dog Dash, E. Burke.  All day.
• Snowflake cutting, Horse Drawn Wagon Rides, Spaghetti Dinner, Torchlight ski. Events all day, starting at 10am.

Ongoing: Winter in the Northeast Kingdom Photo Contest. Child submission category for ages 14 and under.  Must submit entry by Feb. 23rd to Image North Photography.
