Happy Birthday Dr. Seuss, Happy Lorax 3D!

Across the globe this week, people have enthusiastically celebrated Dr. Seuss’ birthday – at libraries, schools, museums, parties, to name a few.  If he were still alive to see it on March 2, 2012, Theodor Seuss Geisel, a.k.a. Dr. Seuss, would have had 108 candles topping what surely would have been an outrageous and creatively decorated birthday cake!

Why the excitement over Dr. Seuss, the much loved children’s author of books such as the Cat in the Hat, The Lorax, How the Grinch Stole Christmas, Horton Hears a Who?  It is said that, “Dr. Seuss epitomizes a love of children and learning. Also, his use of rhyme makes his books an effective tool for teaching young children the basic skills they need to be successful.”  Dr. Seuss’ books have had such an impact on young readers and grownups alike that President Obama proclaimed March 2nd as Read Across America Day.

Coinciding with Dr. Seuss celebrations worldwide is the debut of Dr. Seuss’ The Lorax 3D.  The Lorax 3D opens in Theaters on March 2nd.

The animated adventure follows the journey of a boy as he searches for the one thing that will enable him to win the affection of the girl of his dreams. To find it he must discover the story of the Lorax, the grumpy yet charming creature who fights to protect his world.
