It’s the weekend!  If you’re looking for something fun to do besides doing your taxes this weekend (psst…Uncle Sam is giving you ’till the 17th this year), here’s a look at some of the family-friendly events taking place in the Northeast Kingdom playground.

• Homeschool Science Day, Fairbanks Museum, 11Am & 12:30 science sessions.  $10/student.
• Grand Unveiling of the New Fairbanks Planetarium (St. Johnsbury), 7pm.  All welcome.
• Chappy’s Ice Cream Opens, East Burke.
• Newport Student Dance, Newport Municipal Building, 7-9pm.  For 5th-7th graders.  Info contact Newport Recreation.
• Chili & Mac & Cheese Cook-Off, Holland Elementary School.  5:30pm.  Benefits class trip.  Info call: 895-4455

Saturday, April 14th:

•  New Fairbanks Planetarium open for presentation, Fairbanks Museum. 11:30am.
• Games Day, St. Johnsbury Athenaeum, 11:00 AM to 3:00 PM, lunch provided. BYO game or use library games.
• Women’s Self-Defense – Jenkins Benefit, St. Johnsbury, Kingdom Gymnastics, 1-3pm. Info call: 274-0774

Sunday, April 15th:

•  Cabin Fever Dodgeball Tournament, Island Pond Town Hall.  12pm signup.  Fun starts at 1pm.  Contact 723-0277 for info.
