It’s time for snowy weekend fun in the NEK. If you’re not a fan of snow, don’t worry–there’s surely something fun on the weekend list for you! But, for what it’s worth…have you ever considered snowshoeing? It’s a great winter sport for all ages and fitness levels, and a great way to “get your feet wet” in a Northeast Kingdom winter sport. Ski Fun: Kids Torchlight Parade at Burke Mountain
Moms, how cool is this event that takes place tonight at Burke Mountain Resort in the NEK? At 6:15pm on Thursday, December 30th kids meet at the J-Bar and light up the slopes at 6:30pm. Sign ups required at the Snow Sports Center Desk. Info: 802-626-7300. Free Nordic Ski Day – Gear, Lessons, Pass – at Select Vermont Ski Areas
Save the date! On January 9, 2011, certain participating Vermont Nordic (XC or Cross-Country) ski areas are offering free Nordic Center passes, gear rentals and lessons as part of the 16th Annual Winter Trails Day. To reserve a free lesson, you have to pre-register. You can do so over at Snowlink or contact the Nordic center directly for more information.
