Knitting in Northern Vermont
For years, I’ve wanted to work on my knitting skills, but I’ve never had enough time for classes. Thanks to awesome youtube videos–thankfully short clips that I can sneak in between toddler and kid requests–I’ve been able to finally accomplish some cool knitting projects.
I just completed a fabulous Christmas gift that looks similar to this (the pattern I used though is called “Casey’s Simple Cowl”) using some yummy eco-cloud alpaca wool from Littleton’s The Yarn Garden. That’s a great store, by the way, and Casey, an employee, is extremely helpful…she answered my many, many questions. Oh, the Yarn Garden also keeps a full calendar of classes, for those who have a few more minutes than I do to hone their skills. I also like to shop at St. Johnsbury’s Wool Away. Miriam Briggs, the owner, is always very willing to help with questions–gee, I know, ’cause I always have a ton of them.
