NEK Moms Weekend Scoop: March 23-25

It’s finally Spring in the NEK!  It’s also the official Maple Sugar Open House Weekend, so contact your local sugar house to see if you can swing by for a visit.  If you’re in the mood for fitness, take note that the St. Johnsbury Academy Track is open!  Public use is free, but sign in at the Field House.

If you’re looking for more family fun this weekend, here’s a quick look at some family-friendly events taking place in and around Vermont’s Northeast Kingdom.  Enjoy!

Friday, March 23rd:

• Art Post Exhibit Opens, MAC Center for the Arts Newport.  Celebration of Children’s Participation in the Arts.
• Youth Open Mike, Catamount Arts, St. Johnsbury, 7:30pm.

Saturday, March 24th:

• Lyndon State College Energy Expo, 9am-4pm
• Danville Peacham Little League Registration, 9-noon.
• Hawaiian Beach Day Party at Burke Mountain.  Wear your Hawaiian shirt, beach outfit or grass skirt and get a $25 lift ticket.
• Dabble Day, St. Johnsbury, St. Johnsbury School, 10am-noon.  Free, fun family event.
• Dabble Day Morrisville, Morristown Elementary School Cafeteria, 9-1pm.  Free family event.  Info call: 888-5229
• Games Day, St. Johnsbury Athenaeum, 11-3pm.  Lunch provided.
• 13th Annual Sugar on Snow Party, Jed’s Maple, Westfield.  A free family event.  Info call: 744-2095
• Kingdom Vegetarians, Mini-Film Festival., Catamount Arts, St. Johnsbury, Starts at 1pm
• Glover March Talent Show & Pie Auction, 7pm, Glover Town Hall
• Vermont Family Theatre Drama Club, Irasburg United Church, Ages 4-7 at 10-11am; 8-13 at 11:30-1pm. Info call: Karen at 754-2187.
• Barton 2nd Annual Storytelling Night. Barton Memorial Building, 7pm.  For all ages.

• Roller Derby Purse Swap Benefit, Derby, Cow Palace, 2-4pm.
• Derby Line Musician Jam Session, Derby Line Village Hall, 1-4pm.  Benefits scholarships for L.R. & NCU High Schools.
• St. J Striders Running Club Group Run, Meets at St. Johnsbury Academy Field House – 2pm.  All runners/joggers of all abilities.
