VT Department of Fish & Wildlife Free Fishing Day 2012 and Family-Friendly Fishing Opportunities In Vermont
My child has asked begged daily for weeks (well, actually maybe months…perhaps since the end of last year’s fishing season, now that I think about it) to go fishing in the brooks in our town. So, today I was thrilled to receive an email asking to pass along word to NEKMoms.com readers about the Vermont Department of Fish & Wildlife’s upcoming Free Fishing Day – June 9, 2012! Kids and moms and dads can fish together for free!
It’s a perfect time for the “moms” to give fishing a try. It’ll be a trip the kids will remember, and the moms too! – Rod, VT Dept. of Fish & Wildlife
Moms and Dads, Did You Know?
- Kids under the age of 15 can fish without a license.
- Youths 15 to 17 years old get a special fishing license.
- Free Fishing Day takes place annually, usually on the Second Saturday in June and ANYONE is welcome to fish for free in Vermont without a license. Pretty Cool, huh?
You can learn more about Vermont’s upcoming Free Fishing Day over at the Fish & Wildlife Department, which features an information-packed website dedicated to family-friendly fishing opportunities around Vermont, including a clickable map that gives you the scoop about fishing hot-spots and directions to get your family there. You can also find a schedule of Kid’s Fishing Events on the site.
Happy Fishing!
