NEK Learn to Skate Lessons – Lyndonville, Jay Peak
Registration is just around the corner for Learn to Skate Classes in the Kingdom. Here’s the scoop: Lyndonville: Friday, October 22, 2010 – 5:45p.m. Registration & Program start at Fenton Chester Arena (Lyndonville). Learn to Skate Basics Class, every Friday. All ages, beginning with “Snowplow Sam” class. Classes are 30 minutes, with 15 minutes of “playtime” or warm-up time. Pay by the class, or enroll for a discounted-rate full session. “Extra” ice time classes offered on Saturdays. Jay Peak Resort: In the new Ice Haus Skating Arena, offers Homeschool Skating Basics Classes that count toward P.E. requirements, among other introductory classes. For more information, go here. NEK Moms, Get Your Children Ready for Snow, Skiing & Skating at the Burke Ski Swap
Now that it’s October, skiing and skating is just around the corner! If you’re looking to outfit your child or children without breaking the bank, you may want to mark the annual Burke Ski Swap on your calendar. The Ski Swap benefits the Burke Town School Ski & Skate Program. Date: Sunday, October 31, 2010, 9am-2pm at the Burke Town Hall/School You can drop off items to consign on Oct. 30th, 4-6pm.

Hey Moms! If you haven’t already heard, it’s official… a *real* gymnastics training facility is coming to the heart of Vermont’s Northeast Kingdom. Next month (the week of Oct. 11th), Kingdom Gymnastics on Memorial Drive in St. Johnsbury, Vermont opens. Together, Donna Reed and Vladimir Akhlatkin, bring a dream which they’ve held for the past three years to fruition: to bring gymnastics to Vermont’s Northeast Kingdom.
