Summer is here!  Happy 4th of July Weekend, NEK Moms and Dads.  Here’s a look at what’s hot for family fun in Vermont’s Northeast Kingdom this holiday weekend.

Friday, July 1st:

• Lyndon Farmer’s Market (Lyndonville). 3-7pm, Bandstand Park.
• Burke Strawberry Festival (East Burke). 5-7pm.  East Burke Club House Lawn.
• Friday Night’s Live (Island Pond). 6-10pm.  “Class Rewind.”
• Music, Wicked Smart Horn Band (Burke).  Burke Mt. Resort.  Doors open at 8:30pm.  $15/pp

Saturday, July 2nd:

• Blessing of the Bikes.  (Lyndonville).  Chapel, Darling Hill Road. 11am-12noon
• Newport Farmer’s Market (Newport).  Gardner Memorial Park. 10am-4pm.
• Burklyn Arts Summer Craft Fair, Bandstand Park., Lyndonville. 10am-4pm.
• Vermont State Fiddle Championship, Bandstand Park, Lyndonville.
• St. Johnsbury Farmer’s Market, Downtown, behind Anthony’s Diner, Municipal Parking Lot.  9am-1pm.
• Island Pond 4th Celebration. (Island Pond).  Parade at 11am. Canoe race at 1:30pm.  Live Music & Open Air Markets all day.  6-10pm. “Tommy & The Tricksters” (Classic Rock), food, entertainment.
• Vermont 4th BBQ and Fireworks (Burke).  Burke Mt. Resort.  Fireworks around 9pm.  Bring lawnchairs, lawn blankets.  $10 carload for parking.  Food, music & entertainment.
• Chicken BBQ (Greensboro).  At Greensboro United Church of Christ.  Following Parade.
• Caledonia County Fair Extravaganza.  Full day of family fun!  Mountain View Park, Lyndonville.  6:30am gates open.

Sunday, July 3rd:

• Kingdom Aquafest.  Info here.
• Circus Smirkus. (Greensboro)  1pm & 6pm shows.
• Island Pond Holiday Weekend Celebration Continued.  Duck Race at 1pm.

Monday, July 4th:

• Independence Celebration Music Festival (Newport).  4pm-12am.  Gardner Memorial Park.  Fireworks at 9:45, music all day and night.
• Peacham 4th of July Celebration.  11:30am parade from Elementary School.   Kids’ events & BBQ throughout the day.
• Montgomery 4th of July Celebration.  Parade & BBQ (Main Street). 12pm and throughout the day.
• Cabot 4th of July Celebration.  Parade at 11am.  Events throughout the day.
• 4th of July Celebration (Barton).  Orleans County Fairgrounds, 9am on.  Family fun, BBQ.  Fireworks.
• Danville 4th of July Celebration.  All day.  Parade (1oam), food, Bingo, fun run (noon), bike race.
• Island Pond 4th of July Celebration Continued.
