NEK Moms Weekend Scoop: July 6-8

Looks like an action-packed weekend in Vermont’s Northeast Kingdom.  Here’s a quick look at some of the family-friendly events taking place.  There are still many Independence Day events happening, too–you can read those event details here.  This is also the big Kingdom AquaFest Weekend.  Plus, Vermont Children Theater concludes its wonderful children’s play Beanstalk! — a must see for children!

Friday, July 6th:

• Lyndon Farmers’ Market, Bandstand Park 3:30pm
• Kingdom AquaFest Pet and Swimmers Parade, 5:30pm, Main Street Newport.
• Vermont Children’s Theater Presents Beanstalk!  The Musical.  7pm.  Darling Hill Road, Lyndonville.  A wonderful theater experience for children–perfect for little ones!
• Burke Mt. Fireworks (East Burke).  Fireworks at 9:30pm; BBQ, Music & Chairlift rides; Gates open at 5pm; $10/car
• Island Pond Fourth of July Weekend Celebration (Island Pond), 6-10pm Music & Food

Saturday, July 7th:

• Kingdom Swim, Newport, Events kick off at 8am.
• LynBurke Arts & Crafts Fair, Bandstand Park, Lyndonville.
• Vermont Children’s Theater Presents Beanstalk!  The Musical.  2pm.  Darling Hill Road, Lyndonville.  A wonderful theater experience for children–perfect for little ones!
• St. Johnsbury Farmers’ Market.
• Kingdom Aquafest.  Newport.
• Chowder Fest, Newport, noon-2pm, Main Street. $5.
• Street Fest, Newport, Noon – 10pm.
• Island Pond Fourth of July Weekend Celebration (Island Pond); 11AM Parade & Fireworks at Dusk

Sunday, July 8th:

• Lobster Bake,  Noon-3pm, Gateway Building/City Dock.
• Antique Boat Parade, Newport, 11Am,  Lake Memphremagog
• Sailboat Regatta, Newport 2pm.
• Island Pond Fourth of July Weekend Celebration (Island Pond) ; Duck Race, Boat Parade (2PM)
