I’ve bragged before on Facebook that I’ve had the opportunity to check out Regal Gymnastics Academy’s brand new, under-construction training facility that opens May 1st in Essex, VT, but I want to expand my rave here. Sure, Essex isn’t exactly a stone’s throw to the NEK, but this place must be mentioned here because when it opens next month, it will be a destination for Vermont moms EVERYWHERE. This state-of-the-art training center, featuring gazillions (okay, I’m exaggerating, but it’s H-U-G-E) of square feet, full air conditioning, workout center for parents, yoga/dance studio, organic/whole-foods deli, preschool, gymnastics shop, open gym AND birthday party Castle (say, larger than life!) and Play…

Montshire Museum’s Robot Zoo
Thinking of a summer day trip? The Montshire Museum in Norwich, Vermont, has just opened the nationally touring Robot Zoo exhibit. The exhibit displays May 21-September 11, 2011. Children, parents and friends can explore biometrics of animal robots to learn how real animals work. Of course, if you plan a trip in the summer, be sure to pack your child’s swim suit so they can enjoy the museum’s water exploration park!

Save the Date: Preschoolers’ Fire Station Visit Day at Cobleigh Library – Lyndonville
Whether or not your preschooler dreams about becoming a “firefighter” when she grows up, chances are she’ll love a field trip to the Fire Station! Here’s the NEK Moms scoop: On Wednesday, October 6, 2010, at 9:45 a.m. parents, grandparents, caregivers and children will meet in the Children’s room at the Cobleigh Library in Lyndonville.
