Vermont History Expo 2012: Vermont in the Civil War
This weekend my husband and I are ridiculously excited to take our daughter to her first Vermont History Expo (not that she will remember it, but we will take lots of pictures) at the Tunbridge Fairgrounds. In addition to being an awesome high school history teacher, my husband is also a Civil War re-enactor with the Hemlocks. (Have I mentioned that we met at an American Revolution course for teachers in Virginia? We also got married at the Old Stone House complete with a contra dance – we are quite the history nerds!) Creative Arts Homeschooling Drama Class in St. Johnsbury
Homeschooling families take note! There’s a new drama class for homeschoolers age 5-10 years old in St. Johnsbury. The class Drama Llamas meets once a week on Fridays from 4-5pm, and “will teach drama basics: performance skills, projection, improvisation, characterization and creative movement.” The class is led by Bri Hartsock, who is a talented and fun instructor (and former homeschooler)! Free Harry Potter Movie Showings at Catamount Arts
If your child (or family) digs Harry Potter, you won’t want to miss the upcoming free Harry Potter series at Catamount Arts. Beginning June 25th, Catamount Arts will show the Harry Potter films in order, beginning with THE SORCERER’S STONE, ultimately leading up to the final movie release date on July 15th. The series is free and open to all. Free April Art Programs for Kids and Adults at the Cobleigh Library
In this week’s Cobleigh Publicity email news (btw, super librarian, Tina Achilles’ list is great and you should sign up for it if you don’t already receive it), there are fabulous free art offerings for ages 8+. The art sessions take place Monday through Friday, April 11th-15th, 1pm-2:45pm.
