A Mom’s Guide to Ringing in 2011: New Year’s Celebrations in and Around Vermont’s Northeast Kingdom

Looking to do something on New Year’s Eve besides watching the ball drop on television? Here’s your chance!

Ring in the New Year at Burke Mountain’s Tamarack Grill.  Beginning at 4pm, the New Year’s Eve Buffet will feature Prime Rib, Seafood and More.  Pat Foley Band.  New Year’s Eve Dance.  Dinner $40 per person, includes Dance Admission. Otherwise dance cover charge $15.  For Rez: 802-626-7390.

First Night St. Johnsbury.  Family fun and entertainment from 4pm to midnight in downtown St. Johnsbury.  Discounted button (admission for events) if purchased in advance. $12-$17.

Jay Peak Resort New Year’s Eve Blowout and Fireworks.  Location: Tram Side. Food, music, fireworks.

Fairbanks Museum Planetarium Shows. Don’t miss the exciting planetarium shows. 7-10pm.

Ring in the New Year in Vermont’s Capital City:  Montpelier’s First Night. Whole family entertainment, fun and fireworks.
