Kids’ Winter Athletics in the Northeast Kingdom

If you’re looking to get sporty as a family this winter or introduce your child to organized winter athletics, here are a few local NEK options.

St. Johnsbury Recreation offers Youth Basketball (two groups: 4-5 year olds and 6-8 year olds). You can register online here.  Meets at St. Johnsbury School on Saturday mornings. $15.

Northeast Kingdom Nordic Club debuts the Bill Koch Youth Nordic Ski League.  Meets on Saturdays, beginning on Jan. 1st.  All ages welcome. $35 first child/$25 siblings.  Season ski rentals available through Village Sports (Lyndonville) or through NENSA. You can find more Info here.

Homeschool Alpine/Downhill Ski Group Lessons at Burke Mountain Academy on Tuesdays beginning in January.  Contact Burke Mt. for info.

Learn to Swim at St. Johnsbury Academy.  Lessons for every level, beginning with age 3. More info here.

Kingdom Trails open on December 17th for X-C skiing and snowshoeing.  Discount family membership (Winter pass) for families with child(ren) in the new Bill Koch League program.
