Way back when I was a teen, I was crazy about The Gap. The Gap was my first brand love. That love lasted throughout college and for much of my pre-mommahood days. During pregnancy, I liked Gap’s maternity line. But sadly, the love didn’t last into the early baby
days years–because somehow my unperfect mom body didn’t quite fit into the clothes that too often seemed designed for perfect Gap skinny jeans (sans the muffin top) type bodies. Of course, those reports a few years ago that Gap clothes were assembled in child sweatshops also soured my love (though apparently this situation has been resolved).
Today, my heart skipped a beat when I saw that a new Gap Factory Store had opened in West Lebanon, New Hampshire, next to JCPenney and Kohl’s. Of course, I had to make an unexpected “detour” to the store! The sales were awesome–30-50% off most racks, including children’s clothes!
