Island Pond in the Boston Globe

Island Pond in the Fall

Looking to take the kids on a weekend getaway close to home? The Boston Globe featured Island Pond yesterday in their travel section. In the article you can find reviews of places to stay, places to eat, things to do during the day, and things to do after dark (none of which are actually in Island Pond, where your best bet is to enjoy the night sky and some quiet). As a former teacher in Island Pond I am already biased toward the beauty of this area (and I do love Simon the Tanner!) – check it out for yourself!

I’ve just come home from taking my husband and daughter to FL for a week and as soon as my vertigo subsides I will be writing about the trip. In the meantime, if you enjoyed strawberry picking  you might also like picking blueberries which are ready now!

Naptime means playtime for NEK mom Aimee Alexander, whose creative outlet is writing about all things mom-related over at Mama’s Recess including children’s health advocacy, education, raising kids in rural America, and the occasional project or recipe. You can also find her on Facebook and Pinterest!
