NEK Moms Pic of the Week: Family-Friendly Trout River Brewery Open with Summer Hours

If you’re in the mood for yummy, creative, gourmet pizza, beer (or root beer out of a bottle) and a down-to-Earth atmosphere that scores kid-friendly points, you may be interested in knowing that Trout River Brewery in Lyndonville is now open with extended Summer Hours through Labor Day.  The restaurant is open Thursdays – Saturday, 5-9pm.  I took my kids out to Trout River last Thursday night for the first time–the regular Friday & Saturday hours just never seem to work out for us for some reason…like, like, like these Summer hours.  😉

If you aren’t familiar with Trout River, the place posts its menus and specials on chalk boards or poster board on the walls.  So, basically you get to walk around the dining room to check out the MANY pizza options.  The seating options include high pub tables, bench-style seating, and “farmhouse” tables.  It’s quite casual, which is a plus for families, but the pizza is anything but casual (although there is an American Pizza option – “just cheese” for the kiddos).

Trout River pizza is hand-tossed, healthy and “fancier” than a typical pizza place–think American Flatbread or Parker Pie.  For the quality and quantity (no slacking on toppings here), you’ll walk away full without breaking the family budget.  Definitely a place to try!
